Facilitation of a strategic planningworkshop for the post-Tsunami engagement of Caritas network

Task
On the basis of a Special Operations Appeal for Aceh and Nias (Indonesia) eleven international Caritas agencies were successfully present in Indonesia since Tsunami (December 2004). Together they provided emergency relief and contributed with reconstruction and economic recovery activities to the affected population and spend around US$ 87’000’000. When this programme came to an end in December 2008, the most active Caritas agencies in the network decided to continue the engagement with their partners for another three years. Together they decided to focus on a sustainable rehabilitation programme in the sector of disaster risk reduction, peace building and capacity development for the local partners. A joint planning workshop should elaborate the successes and failures of the past and should work out the strategy how to continue.
